Natural stone floors — limestone, sandstone, slate, quarry tile, flagstone — are beautiful but demanding. They're porous, they scratch, they react badly to the wrong chemistry, and once a seal is broken, soiling penetrates fast.
We have long experience cleaning stone floors in period properties, stately homes, pubs and residential properties across Yorkshire. We assess the stone type, the seal condition and the soiling level before choosing the right chemistry and method. There is no one-size-fits-all with natural stone.
A standard stone floor clean includes surface cleaning and grout cleaning. Re-sealing is offered as an add-on where appropriate. For very heavily soiled floors or floors that have never been professionally cleaned, we may recommend a pre-treatment overnight soak — we'll discuss this when we visit.

Do you seal stone floors after cleaning?
We offer sealing as an add-on. Not every floor needs re-sealing — we'll advise after assessing the current seal condition on site.
Can you clean limestone without etching?
Yes. Limestone requires a pH-neutral or alkaline cleaner. Acid-based products (including many commercial floor cleaners) etch limestone. We use the correct chemistry.
Do you clean flagstone floors in period properties?
Yes — period properties with original flagstone are a speciality. We've worked on Yorkshire farmhouses, stately homes and listed buildings.
